Answers about the Midnight wallet, Android preview, self-custody and developer integrations.

## What is Privatar?

Privatar is a self-custodial Midnight wallet with an Android preview and a connection SDK for application developers. It keeps wallet recovery information on the device and asks users to approve connected-site permissions and supported requests.

## Where can I download Privatar?

Download the signed Android preview APK from https://privatar.app/download. The page includes installation instructions, the current public version and a SHA-256 checksum. The preview is distributed directly outside Google Play. iOS is coming soon.

## Is Privatar ready for Mainnet funds?

Privatar is an early preview. Start with a test wallet and Preview or Preprod test assets. Mainnet requires application-operator provider configuration and has not been verified with funds. Native proof and funded connected-site transaction acceptance remain pending.

## Who holds the wallet recovery phrase and keys?

The recovery phrase and wallet keys stay in the wallet on the device. Dedicated native builds use protected device storage and device authentication. The integration SDK does not receive the recovery phrase or spending keys. Privatar cannot recover a lost phrase; never send it to support.

## Does connecting a site authorize login or spending?

A connection grants only the permissions approved by the wallet owner. Sign-in requires a separate, fresh challenge signature verified by the application server. Supported transaction requests require separate wallet review. A public address alone does not prove wallet ownership or real-world identity.

## How do developers integrate Privatar?

Use @privatar-wallet/sdk and the SDK quickstart at https://docs.privatar.app/sdk. Request only the permissions needed, display the SDK pairing link or QR code and comparison code, and verify sign-in challenges on your server. Review the API and current security boundaries before integration.

## What are NIGHT and DUST in the wallet?

NIGHT is a transferable asset. Registered NIGHT generates DUST, the nontransferable resource used for Midnight transaction fees. Privatar displays current DUST and capacity; DUST is not a transferable token or a NIGHT receive address.
